This poster captures the dangerous encounter between Inspector Shekhar and Kamini - two characters standing on opposite sides of the law when they first meet.
The design places their black-and-white portraits against a blood-red circular field and deep maroon geometry, borrowing the visual tension of 1950s crime cinema. Shekhar appears alert and controlled, while Kamini occupies the foreground with an elegance that conceals her connection to the criminal world. The enormous shadowed face above them turns the composition into something almost psychological: a world of observation, suspicion and hidden motives.
Rather than recreating an original theatrical poster, the artwork reimagines C.I.D. through a clean mid-century graphic language - Bombay noir reduced to faces, shadows, red geometry and danger.
Inspector Shekhar is investigating the murder of a newspaper editor who was preparing to expose connections between respectable society and Bombay's underworld. His investigation draws him deeper into a criminal network determined to silence witnesses and protect the people behind the crime.
One of the film's most memorable encounters brings him face-to-face with Kamini. Shekhar is taken to the criminals' house, where Kamini attempts to bribe him into releasing an arrested man. Shekhar refuses. Kamini then spikes the drink offered to him, leaving him intoxicated, and the gang abandons him on the street.
But Kamini is more complicated than the role she initially performs. Later, when Shekhar himself is framed and forced to flee, their paths cross again and the relationship begins to change. Kamini gradually turns against the criminal world surrounding her. She helps Shekhar and becomes important to the effort to expose the conspiracy, placing herself in danger in the process.
That transformation is at the heart of this poster: Shekhar, the investigator who refuses to be bought, and Kamini, the mysterious woman who first tries to defeat him but ultimately helps him fight the very world she belongs to. Their scenes bring an emotional ambiguity to the thriller - attraction, mistrust, danger and redemption existing side by side.
